Lisa Minardi will give an illustrated presentation about the organization's four historic sites: the Speaker's House, home of Frederick Muhlenberg and an ongoing restoration; the Henry Muhlenberg House, a fully restored and furnished house museum; the Muhlenberg Parsonage, built in 1745 and undergoing study in preparation for restoration; and the Dewees Tavern, home to the Center for Pennsylvania German Studies. Learn about these historic buildings as well as the amazing collections of Pennsylvania German furniture, fraktur, paintings, redware, silver, and other objects exhibited therein.

Lisa Minardi is executive director of Historic Trappe and the Lutheran Archives Center at Philadelphia. She holds a B.A. in history and museum studies from Ursinus College, an M.A. from the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture, and is a Ph.D. candidate in the History of American Civilization program at the University of Delaware, where she is researching the German-speaking community of early Philadelphia for her dissertation. She is the author of many books and articles on Pennsylvania German art and culture, including Pastors & Patriots: The Muhlenberg Family of Pennsylvaniaand A Colorful Folk: Pennsylvania Germans & the Art of Everyday Life.
